Why are my leaves getting brown or black spots?

Most likely cause:

Brown or black spots can be caused by fungal or bacterial leaf spot diseases, often triggered by excess moisture on the leaves, poor air circulation, or overcrowding. Sometimes, sunburn can also cause dark, crispy patches, especially on thin leaves.

How to fix:

• Remove and discard affected leaves to prevent the problem from spreading.
• Avoid overhead watering—water the soil directly and keep leaves as dry as possible.
• Improve air circulation by spacing plants out and avoiding cramped corners.
• If the issue persists, use a fungicide labeled for houseplants and follow the instructions carefully.
• If you suspect sunburn, move the plant out of direct sun into bright, indirect light.
